This role would particularly suit candidates who have gained experience within:

  • Financial services institutions
  • Payments businesses
  • Fintech organisations
  • Crypto, blockchain or digital assets companies
  • Regulated technology businesses

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on privacy, data protection and data governance issues across payments, digital assets, stablecoin infrastructure and other regulated financial services activities.
  • Support a major post-acquisition integration project, including privacy remediation, governance alignment and implementation of enhanced privacy controls.
  • Provide practical legal advice on data-sharing arrangements, customer and partner integrations, cross-border data transfers and complex commercial initiatives.
  • Conduct privacy-by-design reviews and advise on privacy impact assessments, data mapping and international transfer requirements.
  • Counsel stakeholders on privacy considerations relating to digital wallets, blockchain-based products, financial crime prevention, fraud monitoring and related regulatory obligations.
  • Partner closely with legal, compliance, product, engineering and commercial teams to deliver pragmatic, risk-based legal guidance.

About You

You are likely to have:

  • 7+ years' experience advising on privacy, data protection and data governance matters.
  • A strong grounding in UK GDPR, GDPR and broader global privacy frameworks.
  • Experience supporting businesses operating within financial services, payments, fintech, crypto or digital assets.
  • A proven ability to advise on complex data-sharing arrangements, product development initiatives and regulatory risk.

Particularly Attractive Backgrounds

The hiring team would be especially interested in candidates who have experience with:

  • Crypto, blockchain or digital asset businesses.
  • Stablecoins, virtual asset products or digital wallet ecosystems.
  • Payments infrastructure and money transmission activities.
  • Cross-border financial services and international data transfers.
  • Financial crime, AML or Travel Rule considerations from a privacy perspective.
