A leading global technology client is seeking a commercially minded Data Privacy Counsel to join its high-performing legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to work at the forefront of privacy, digital products, AI and emerging technologies in a fast-paced, international environment.

You'll partner closely with product, engineering, security, compliance and commercial teams to provide pragmatic, risk-based advice on a broad range of privacy and data governance matters across EMEA and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on UK and EU data protection laws, including GDPR, ePrivacy and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Support the launch of new products and features through privacy-by-design reviews and DPIAs.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams on data collection, use, sharing and retention strategies.
  • Review and negotiate data processing agreements, vendor contracts and technology agreements.
  • Provide guidance on international data transfers, AI governance, adtech, consumer-facing products and online platform issues.
  • Assist with regulatory enquiries, incident response and data breach matters.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and help implement practical compliance solutions.
About You
  • UK or common law qualified lawyer with at least 6 PQE.
  • Strong experience advising on data privacy and technology matters, either in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience within technology, digital platforms, social media, gaming, fintech or other fast-moving consumer-facing environments is highly desirable.
  • Commercially pragmatic with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Hybrid working is offered.
