Our client, a major international financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced England & Wales qualified lawyer to join their legal team on a 12-month interim basis.

The successful candidate will provide legal support across a range of trade finance and lending activities, advising business stakeholders on complex cross-border transactions, product structures, documentation, and regulatory matters.

The role will involve partnering with teams across multiple jurisdictions and working closely with risk, compliance, finance, tax, and other control functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on trade finance transactions, including letters of credit and related trade products.
  • Provide legal support on export credit agency-backed financing and asset distribution matters.
  • Review, draft and negotiate transaction documentation.
  • Support business stakeholders on multi-jurisdictional legal and regulatory issues.
  • Work closely with internal legal teams and external counsel on global matters and strategic projects.
  • Contribute to business transformation and digitisation initiatives.
  • Required Experience
  • England & Wales qualified solicitor.
  • 5+ years' PQE.
  • Strong experience in lending and/or trade finance.
  • Experience advising on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions.
  • Working knowledge of trade finance products, including letters of credit.
  • Familiarity with ICC rules and market practice (including UCP and ISP98) would be advantageous.
