A global technology organisation is seeking an experienced employment lawyer to provide coverage for a six-month period during the second half of 2026, ahead of the start date of a permanent hire already confirmed for January. The role carries primary responsibility for European employment law matters, supported by a broader international remit, and reports directly to the General Counsel.
Key jurisdictions include Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and Poland, with the German remit involving engagement with an active works council. This is an advisory role with no litigation responsibility. The successful candidate will provide pragmatic, business-facing employment law counsel and coordinate with local counsel across relevant jurisdictions as required.
Candidate Requirements
- 10–15+ years' employment law experience
- Demonstrated working knowledge across multiple EU jurisdictions
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy
- Prior experience liaising with works councils is preferred
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment
Engagement Details
- Basis: Contractor engagement; administrative and payroll arrangements managed by the placing firm
- Location: Fully remote; an office is available in Crawley, though attendance is not required
- Day rate: Approximately £800–£1000 per day, reflecting current market conditions for senior employment law specialists amid sustained demand across the sector
- Permanent prospects: None; the permanent appointment for this position has already been confirmed
