Job Description
Senior Legal Counsel β Central London β 12 month fixed term contract, starting no later than February 2026
Hybrid: Three days in the office each week
You will join a leading logistics company with a broad national footprint. You will work directly with senior leadership and commercial teams across the UK. The business is expanding its legal function and needs an experienced in-house counsel who can manage complex commercial work and provide strategic guidance.
What you will do
β’ Deliver clear and commercially focused legal advice that supports operational and strategic decisions.
β’ Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts. Includes site visits to regional locations when needed.
β’ Advise on legislation affecting the business. Includes UK and EU regulatory changes.
β’ Manage a wide range of legal matters. Includes health and safety, environment, employment, marine, and disputes.
β’ Lead engagement with external counsel. You will scope work, monitor advice and control spend.
β’ Build trusted relationships with senior managers across property, commercial, engineering, procurement, and compliance.
β’ Step in for the General Counsel when required.

β’ Experience handling varied operational and regulatory issues.
β’ Ability to work with senior stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
β’ Strong communication and organisational skills.
β’ Ability to manage competing priorities and operate with autonomy.
β’ Experience from a top tier firm or a strong in-house role is valued.
