Senior Legal Counsel – Central London – 12 month fixed term contract, starting no later than February 2026
Hybrid: Three days in the office each week
You will join a leading logistics company with a broad national footprint. You will work directly with senior leadership and commercial teams across the UK. The business is expanding its legal function and needs an experienced in-house counsel who can manage complex commercial work and provide strategic guidance.
What you will do
• Deliver clear and commercially focused legal advice that supports operational and strategic decisions.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts. Includes site visits to regional locations when needed.
• Advise on legislation affecting the business. Includes UK and EU regulatory changes.
• Manage a wide range of legal matters. Includes health and safety, environment, employment, marine, and disputes.
• Lead engagement with external counsel. You will scope work, monitor advice and control spend.
• Build trusted relationships with senior managers across property, commercial, engineering, procurement, and compliance.
• Step in for the General Counsel when required.

• Strong commercial drafting and negotiation capability.
• Experience handling varied operational and regulatory issues.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and operate with autonomy.
• Experience from a top tier firm or a strong in-house role is valued.
