Senior Privacy Regulatory Counsel | London / Hybrid
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced privacy and regulatory lawyer to join a leading global technology company on an interim basis, supporting a high-profile European regulatory and governance team.
This role sits within a dedicated team responsible for advising on complex digital regulation, privacy governance, and regulatory engagement across Europe. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership on regulatory investigations, support evolving digital regulatory frameworks, and mentor junior legal team members.
Key Responsibilities
β Lead strategy and execution for regulatory investigations and engagement relating to data protection matters.
β Advise on emerging European and UK digital regulations, including the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Digital Services Act (DSA), AI Act, and related privacy considerations.
β Partner with internal stakeholders and external parties on a broad range of privacy and regulatory issues.
β Support and enhance privacy governance programmes, policies, and procedures across European operations.
β Guide and mentor junior legal professionals within the team.
Ideal Background
β’ UK or European qualified lawyer.
β’ Strong experience in privacy, data protection, governance, and regulatory matters.
β’ Proven experience engaging with regulators, particularly data protection authorities.
β’ Excellent drafting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide pragmatic advice in a fast-paced environment.
β’ Experience leading complex cross-functional projects.
Desirable Experience
β’ Deep expertise in privacy and data protection law, regulatory investigations, enforcement, or litigation.
β’ Knowledge of online safety, content risk, AI regulation, competition law, or broader digital regulation.
β’ Track record of driving GDPR compliance initiatives across large organisations.
