A high-growth payments platform is looking to hire an experienced Legal Counsel to take a lead role supporting its global product offering and international expansion. You will act as a key legal partner to Product and Engineering teams, advising across the full product lifecycle—from design through to launch—while helping to build scalable product governance and regulatory frameworks. The role also offers exposure to new market entry projects across North America and Latin America. This is a highly visible position in a lean legal team, suited to someone commercially minded, decisive, and comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key focus areas:
- Leading legal input on product development, approvals, and terms & conditions
- Advising on payments regulation and supporting international expansion
- Maintaining and localising commercial frameworks (MSAs) across multiple jurisdictions
- Supporting data privacy and compliance frameworks globally
Ideal profile:
- At least 4–7 PQE UK-qualified lawyer
- Strong payments experience (merchant acquirer / processor / issuer environments preferred)
- Comfortable working closely with product teams in a fast-moving business
- Pragmatic, solutions-focused, and confident providing clear risk-based advice
