A multinational organisation is seeking an experienced Investigations & Compliance Lawyer to provide interim legal cover during a critical handover period. The role is initially 3–6 months, with a real possibility of extension.
This is a senior, hands-on position. You will pick up live, cross-border investigations and provide regional legal oversight while permanent arrangements are finalised. A short overlap with the outgoing counsel is planned for handover and context transfer, so an early June start is ideal.
Scope- Lead and progress internal investigations, including ongoing matters in China and India
- Advise on compliance-sensitive and high-risk regional issues, with a particular focus on the Middle East
- Act as a credible, senior point of contact for internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
- Work alongside external counsel handling competing matters
- A very senior Investigations / Compliance lawyer, comfortable operating independently from day one
- Strong track record on global, cross-border internal investigations
- Middle East experience is essential
- China experience is desirable, given live and emerging matters
- India experience is a bonus, not required — the region is well-covered locally; you would oversee the investigations workstream there
- Cultural sensitivity and judgement to navigate sensitive matters across very different jurisdictions
- Start: end of May / early June (early June optimal, to allow handover overlap)
- Length: 3–6 months, with scope to extend
- Location: open globally — fully remote
- Commitment: full-time strongly preferred; 80% considered
