This role sits within the EMEA employment legal function of a globally iconic technology business. The client is looking to hire an Interim Employment Counsel to provide cover within its EMEA Employment Legal team. This is a hands‑on, autonomous role, suited to an experienced employment lawyer who is comfortable operating with minimal supervision and partnering closely with in‑house stakeholders and external counsel across multiple European jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end‑to‑end employment law advice across a range of European jurisdictions
- Act as a trusted internal adviser on employment matters, policies, and procedures
- Handle employment litigation and disputes, working closely with local external counsel where required
- Advise on complex employee relations issues, restructurings, and HR risk
- Support the wider EMEA employment legal team on strategic and business‑critical matters
Jurisdictional Focus
- Significant advisory exposure to continental Europe, particularly: France, Italy, Spain
- UK experience helpful but not sufficient on its own
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent European qualification)
- Strong generalist employment law background gained in‑house and/or private practice
- Demonstrable experience advising on European employment law matters outside the UK
- Confident working independently in a fast‑paced, international environment
- Comfortable managing and instructing external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
Working Arrangements
- Based in London, embedded within the client’s EMEA Employment Legal hub
- Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the office
