Contextual Overview

Major, Lindsey & Africa is seeking a Corporate Counsel for a 12-month maternity cover contract in London. The role supports a fast-growing, US-headquartered brand accelerator, focusing on M&A, commercial agreements, and general in-house legal operations.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or other common law jurisdiction).
• Proven experience in M&A execution and commercial drafting.
• Strong preference for candidates with a blend of law firm and in-house experience.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Lead drafting and negotiation of acquisition documents (LOI through to completion).
• Support General Counsel on corporate finance matters (equity and debt).
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements including warehousing, marketing, IT, licensing, and supply contracts.
• Manage outside counsel regarding IP and data privacy.
• Develop internal contract templates and legal processes.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Base Pay: £115,000 – £135,000 per annum, plus an annual bonus.
