A Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer is sought by an Engineering company in the Cheltenham / Gloucester area. Among your responsibilities will be managing and optimizing the company's IT infrastructure, and ensuring that the infrastructure is secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs. You will also lead infrastructure projects, contributing to high availability, security, and resilience and engage with vendors to evaluate new technology solutions, manage relationships, and ensure that service levels are met according to contracts. You will also oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing support of IT infrastructure, : lead infrastructure projects such as system migrations, technology rollouts, and network enhancements, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, & budget and implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance with industry standards like ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials. part of the role as you will own the development and execution of disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies, oversee failover testing and ensure that the organisation can maintain operations during emergencies. You will also continuously monitor infrastructure performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement proactive solutions to minimize downtime and ensure system efficiency. The company are looking for someone with the following skills, experience and personal qualities: - Advanced knowledge of network architecture, server infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms (Azure). Proven ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects concurrently, demonstrating strong planning, execution, and leadership skills. Experience of mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with global IT teams, senior management, and vendors.
