A Mechanical / Hydraulics Engineering Technician is needed for a 3-month temporary contract in Hexham. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Fitter with a good awareness of Hydraulics, Electrical and Control Systems (data acquisition set up). You will mainly be assembling test rigs and performing test validation sequences to company and industry procedures, working as a pair with a test engineer. The role is 5 days per week on site in Hexham, 8.00 - 4.00 (potential early finish Friday at 2.00), 37.5 hrs per week.

You will need the following experience:

  • Substantial experience as a Mechanical Technician / Fitter (8-10 years ideally)
  • Experience of working in a project based manufacturing / engineering environment
  • Able to work to engineering drawings and client specifications
  • Experience of working on bespoke equipment

It would be beneficial but not essential to have Forklift and overhead crane (and slinging) tickets; trades such as welding etc. are not needed. DBS checks will be carried out on the successful candidate. This is a varied role working on specialist engineering projects. The contract will be for 3 months and is inside IR-35. Hourly rate is £20-25 p/h depending on qualifications and experience.
