As part of our continued growth in the UK, we are currently supporting the delivery of a major building and regeneration project in North London. This scheme reflects the scale and complexity of projects we deliver globally and represents a significant milestone in our UK expansion.

We are now seeking an experienced Design Manager to join the team on this high-profile scheme. This is a large-scale, technically complex development currently in its delivery phase, offering a genuine opportunity to play a central role in shaping and driving design outcomes. This is a significant project, providing the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of a landmark development within a dynamic and internationally experienced organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the Design Director, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design development and delivery across all disciplines throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a central role in ensuring that design outputs are fully coordinated, compliant, and aligned with programme, cost, and buildability requirements, while supporting seamless integration with construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the design process across all disciplines, including architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist packages
- Ensure all design deliverables comply with UK Building Regulations, British Standards, CDM 2015, and client requirements
- Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of design drawings, technical submissions, and shop drawings
- Lead design coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives
- Identify and resolve design clashes and interface issues through BIM coordination and structured design reviews
- Work closely with planning teams to ensure alignment between design deliverables and project programme milestones
- Coordinate with procurement and commercial teams to ensure design intent aligns with specifications and contractual requirements
- Provide technical support to construction teams, including responding to RFIs and resolving site-based design challenges
- Support value engineering initiatives to deliver cost-effective and buildable design solutions
- Monitor design progress, risks, and key issues, providing regular updates to senior project leadership
- Ensure all design documentation is controlled, managed, and distributed in line with project protocols
About You
Experience
- 10+ years experience in design management within large-scale construction projects
- Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and consultants
- Experience delivering projects across multiple RIBA stages
- Background in major infrastructure or complex building projects is highly desirable
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related discipline
- Chartered status (e.g. RIBA, ARB, CIBSE, IStructE) is advantageous
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination and integration
- Solid knowledge of UK regulations, standards, and compliance requirements
- Experience working within BIM-led design environments (e.g. Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 / ACC)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation
- Understanding of buildability, design risk, and cost implications
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills
Working Environment
- Regular on-site presence required to support coordination, installation, and commissioning activities with some flexibility for hybrid working.
