A well-established manufacturing and engineering company based in Halifax is looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner to support its growing operations within a busy machine shop environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Production Planner with strong engineering knowledge who enjoys working closely with the shop floor, production management, and key internal stakeholders to ensure manufacturing schedules are met efficiently.

The Role - Production Planner

As a Production Planner, you will play a key role in coordinating production activities, supporting the Production Manager, and maintaining strong internal account relationships across the business. The role is both office-based and shop-floor focused, requiring practical understanding of machining and engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production planning and scheduling within a machining environment
  • Progress chasing jobs through the shop floor
  • Assisting the Production Manager with day-to-day production management
  • Producing and maintaining accurate status and production reports
  • Liaising with internal departments to manage workload and priorities
  • Supporting shop floor duties with an understanding of machining processes
  • Maintaining strong internal account and stakeholder relationships
  • Ensuring production deadlines and quality standards are met

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Production Planner within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in a machine shop / machining environment
  • Relevant engineering or manufacturing qualifications (HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of production management and manufacturing workflows
  • Ability to work closely with shop floor teams and management
  • Strong organisational, communication, and reporting skills

Salary & Benefits

£45,000 - £48,000 per annum

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Friday: 8:00am - 2:30pm

Flexible start times available (6:00am or 7:00am start possible)
