Salary: IRO £40,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00

Major Recruitment's Technical Division are delighted to be working with a growing manufacturing client based in Huddersfield. Due to continued growth and expansion, our client is seeking an additional skilled, apprentice-trained or time-served Plant Maintenance Technician to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business where your expertise as a Plant Maintenance Technician will ensure equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Principal Job Objective

To ensure that premises and equipment are maintained and improved where required, in line with all appropriate quality and safety standards. You will take part in improvement activities to support the business in achieving operational success as a Plant Maintenance Technician.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain equipment across the site
  • Maintain premises to a high standard
  • Take part in continuous improvement activities
  • Work safely and promote good manufacturing practices
  • Manufacture and fabricate machine parts where required

Essential Requirements

  • Strong understanding of all safety and quality standards
  • Experience implementing and working with TPM and improvement processes
  • Proven experience maintaining equipment and premises
  • Electro-mechanical maintenance experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confidence liaising with visitors and contractors when required

Desirable Requirements

  • Power press and metal forming equipment experience
  • Previous experience within a similar manufacturing environment
  • Welding experience
  • Abrasive wheels training
  • Willingness to participate in Health & Safety Committee activities
