Salary IRO £45K-£48K PA

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm

Friday: 8:00am – 2:30pm

Flexible start times available (6:00am or 7:00am start possible)

A well-established manufacturing and engineering company based in Halifax is looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner to support its growing operations within a busy machine shop environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on Production Planner with strong engineering knowledge who enjoys working closely with the shop floor, production management, and key internal stakeholders to ensure manufacturing schedules are met efficiently.

The Role – Production Planner

As a Production Planner, you will play a key role in coordinating production activities, supporting the Production Manager, and maintaining strong internal account relationships across the business. The role is both office‑based and shop‑floor focused, requiring practical understanding of machining and engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Production planning and scheduling within a machining environment
• Progress chasing jobs through the shop floor
• Assisting the Production Manager with day‑to‑day production management
• Producing and maintaining accurate status and production reports
• Liaising with internal departments to manage workload and priorities
• Supporting shop floor duties with an understanding of machining processes
• Maintaining strong internal account and stakeholder relationships
• Ensuring production deadlines and quality standards are met

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Production Planner within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong background in a machine shop / machining environment
• Relevant engineering or manufacturing qualifications (HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of production management and manufacturing workflows
• Ability to work closely with shop floor teams and management
• Strong organisational, communication, and reporting skills

Salary & Benefits

£45,000 – £48,000 per annum
