Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Team Leader to join a well-established manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys leading teams, driving operational performance, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
The Production Team Leader will support the Shift Supervisor and Production Manager in the day-to-day running of the operation, ensuring production targets are achieved while developing and motivating a team of operatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate operational activities to ensure production and quality targets are consistently achieved.
- Monitor machine performance, capture downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Motivate, coach, train, and develop team members through effective leadership and communication.
- Complete production planning and ensure all shift-related administration and reporting is accurate and completed on time.
- Conduct quality control checks and ensure compliance with company procedures and standards.
- Manage labour allocation, rota planning, and agency staffing requirements as required.
- Monitor stock levels, stock rotation (FIFO), and support purchasing activities.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the operation.
- Lead shift handovers and ensure clear communication between operational teams.
- Support accident, near-miss, and incident investigations while driving a positive safety culture.
- Provide cover for supervisory and management duties when required.
