An established manufacturing business in Bradford is looking to recruit an experienced Press Operator to join its busy Press Shop. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sheet metal press experience who is confident with machine operation, tool changes, setting and quality inspection.
The Role
As a Press Operator, you will safely operate and set sheet metal press machinery, producing components accurately to required production and quality standards. Working within an established manufacturing team, the Press Operator will carry out tool changes and basic machine setting, monitor production output and complete first-off and in-process quality inspections. You will work from engineering drawings, specifications and production documentation, using measuring equipment including verniers and micrometers where required.
The successful Press Operator will also be responsible for identifying quality issues, completing production documentation, carrying out routine machine checks and reporting tooling or maintenance requirements. Health & Safety, housekeeping and 5S will form an important part of the position, alongside reducing waste, downtime and scrap and contributing towards continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Press Operator within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential. You should have experience of sheet metal presses together with press tool setting and/or tool changes. Experience with power presses or progression presses would be advantageous, alongside the ability to read engineering drawings and identify basic machine or tooling faults. You will need to be reliable, safety-conscious, quality-focused and comfortable working to production targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shift Pattern
- Early: 6:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday
- Late: 2:00pm - 10:00pm, Monday to Friday
- Nights: 10:00pm Sunday - 6:00am Friday
Night shift attracts a 25% enhancement on the hourly rate. Saturday overtime may be available depending on business demand.
