The Role
As a Sales Assistant/Driver, you’ll support your store team by driving sales performance and managing daily store operations. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance. This role involves meeting and talking to different customers daily, making it more than just driving: it’s about helping others and delivering great service with a smile. It’s hands-on, physical, and varied.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting your team to meet and exceed targets through KPI focus.
- Provide market-leading customer service to foster business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Offer VIP concierge service by actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
- Share your passion for products through in-depth knowledge of our range, selling the story, not just discounts.
- Own your wine knowledge, support your WSET qualification, and build confidence in sales.
- Maintain the store’s appearance and operations internally and externally.
- Participate in operational tasks such as delivering wine, merchandising stock, and engaging with customers to drive sales.
- Identify and suggest improvements to optimise store operations, collaborating with the team.
- Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and internal policies, completing mandatory training.
- Model Majestic’s Ways of Working and support junior team members, reporting to your Store Manager.
- As a key holder, operate the store independently during opening and closing hours.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Excellent time management, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with problem-solving drive.
- Adaptability and resilience to business changes.
- Strong communication skills.
- Passion for wine and willingness to learn, aiming to pass Level 2 WSET.
- Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
