The Role

As a Sales Assistant you’ll be supporting your store team with driving sales performance and the day‑to‑day running of your store. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting the team to meet and exceed targets through focusing on KPI delivery.
  • Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
  • Offer VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
  • Sell the story, not the discount, demonstrating and sharing your passion for the product with customers through an in‑depth knowledge of the range.
  • Continuously develop wine knowledge to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
  • Take accountability for the physical appearance and maintenance of the store both internally and externally.
  • Perform all operational tasks required for the day‑to‑day running of a Majestic Wine store, including wine delivery to customers, merchandising stock deliveries, and driving to enable sales opportunities.
  • Identify and propose operational improvements to optimise store performance.
  • Ensure compliance, safety and legal standards by following internal policies, processes and completing mandatory training.
  • Support junior team members and feed back to the Store Manager as appropriate.
  • As a key holder, understand opening and closing compliance and operate the store independently.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Excellent time‑management, delegation and problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deliver exceptional customer experience to every single customer.
  • Self‑motivated and able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
  • Can‑do attitude with passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
  • Adaptable and resilient to accommodate changing business demands.
  • Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
  • Wine knowledge beneficial; passion to learn essential to pass Level 2 WSET wine qualifications.
  • Full UK, manual transmission driving licence held for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
