The Role

As a Sales Assistant you’ll be supporting your store team with driving sales performance and the day‑to‑day running of your store. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting your team to meet and exceed targets through focusing on KPI delivery.
  • Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
  • Offer a VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
  • Sell the story, not the discount—share your passion for product with customers through an in‑depth knowledge of our range.
  • Take ownership of your wine knowledge, constantly learning about our products to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
  • Take accountability and pride for the physical appearance and maintenance of your store both internally and externally.
  • Be involved in all operational tasks required for the day‑to‑day running of a Majestic Wine store—delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries, and calling valued customers to drive sales opportunities.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational running of the store, feeding ideas back to your wider team for implementation together.
  • Ensure you remain fully compliant, safe and legal by following internal policies, processes and completing mandatory training.
  • Be an example of Majestic’s Ways of Working and a source of support for more junior team members, feeding back to your Store Manager as appropriate.
  • As a key holder, understand opening and closing compliance and be confident to operate the store without your management team.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Excellent time‑management, delegation and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every customer.
  • Self‑motivated, able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
  • Can‑do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
  • Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever‑changing demands of our business.
  • Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
  • Wine knowledge is beneficial but a passion to learn more is essential to pass Level 2 WSET wine qualifications.
  • Hold a full UK manual‑transmission driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
