We have an exciting opportunity for a field based Junior HR Business Partner who is comfortable with travelling to support our colleagues, to join the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer!
The Role
Reporting to the Head of HR - Retail Operations, you will play a critical role in developing & delivering the People plan in our Retail teams. As a Junior HR Business Partner, you will support our retail business and grow in your HR career. You will work closely with the Head of HR - Retail Operations to deliver strategic HR support, drive organisational effectiveness, and foster a positive work environment. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic individual eager to learn and make an impact in the HR field. You will utilise your excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills to upskill Line Managers and to drive consistency and best practice.
Location: Field Based covering our East and West Regions (Wales to Essex)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Key Responsibilities
- Building strong internal stakeholder relationships by using your excellent communication skills and being visible in the field
- Demonstrate strong professional credibility and build ongoing relationships as a trusted advisor with managers and leaders
- Working closely with our HR Business Partners and your key stakeholders in addressing employee inquiries, resolving conflicts, and ensuring a positive and productive work environment
- Support our robust talent & succession planning process combined with the recruitment strategy, by participating in the hiring process, conducting interviews, and collaborating with hiring managers to attract top talent
- Assist in the execution of performance management process, including performance reviews, feedback processes, and development plans
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements by staying updated on HR laws and regulations, and assist in policy development and communication
- Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, including engagement surveys and action planning
- Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports on HR metrics, such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and recruitment statistics
- Contribute to HR projects and initiatives, providing research, analysis, and administrative support as needed.
- Work closely with the Senior HR Business Partner and other People team members to deliver integrated HR solutions that align with business goals.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
- CIPD qualified (preferred) and/or experience of working within a People function
- 1-2 years of experience in an HR role, preferably within the retail industry
- Understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
- Organisational and time management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Good working knowledge of Google Suite and good understanding of MS office tools
- A proactive and positive attitude with a solution focused approach to problem solving.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Passion for contributing to the success of the HR team and the organisation
