Maison Estelle is a private club set in a Grade I-listed Georgian townhouse on Grafton Street, Mayfair. A ‘hosted home’, bringing people together that have plenty to say and nothing to prove. A new school club (no rules), with old school values of personalised service and discretion. Our sommelier will be required to provide our members with an attentive, exceptional, and personalised wine service. A Senior Sommelier's duties include taking wine orders, sharing knowledge, and suggesting wine pairings for the dishes our members have chosen.

The on target earning potential for this role is £50,000 per annum - comprising a base salary of £35,100, plus a qualified estimate of £14,900 in gratuities and service charge.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The key responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Recommending food and wine pairings to our members based on their preferences.
  • Advising guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices.
  • Informing guests about different varieties of wines and prices.
  • Ensuring wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware and in the correct manner.
  • Storing opened bottles properly to maintain adequate taste.
  • Managing wine cellar and ensure it is stocked as requested.
  • Training junior colleagues and other F&B colleagues on available wines and also making sure that they have good knowledge of the wine list.
  • Complying with all health and safety regulations.
  • Making sure other waiting staff understand the wine list.
  • Suggesting changes or improvements increasing accuracy, efficiency, cost reductions and to improve member’s experience.
  • Being an ambassador for our members club who embodies our values and commitment to all teams.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Proven experience working as a Senior Sommelier in a luxury / lifestyle multi-outlet food and beverage operation. Wine qualification is an advantage. Stays up to date with current wine trends and best practices. Must be able to work flexibly including evenings and weekends due to the operational hours of the club. Excellent communication skills and comfortable talking to colleagues, senior management and being front of house building relationships with our members. A genuine passion for hospitality and hosting.
