We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Financial Accountant to join our senior finance leadership team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This role supports two of London’s most prestigious membership clubs, Maison Estelle and Celeste, alongside the Group holding company.
The main responsibilities of our Financial Accountant include:
- Tax and VAT, HMRC compliance, adherence to updated accounting standards
- Running year-end audit, overseeing Balance Sheet integrity, maintaining/improving financial controls, Capex ownership, Group Consolidation, training new processes and upskilling the transactional finance team
As a Financial Accountant you will:
- Maintain the Legal and Statutory framework
- Ensure compliance with updated Accounting Standards
- Ensure National Statistics Returns are compliant
- Ensure HMRC – regulatory, payroll and VAT returns are returned on time
- Manage MTD Companies House returns
- Take ownership of tracking capital expenditure spends and ensure compliance and sign-offs are being followed
- Take full ownership of the balance sheet, ensuring all balances are accurate, clearly understood, and regularly reconciled
- Implement controls and processes to support accurate reporting and risk management
- Develop the group consolidation reporting ensuring accuracy and up to date of the current status
- Support both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies, and regulations
- Maintain a strong control environment
- Support training and progression of team members
About You:
- A qualified or qualified‑by‑experience finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise
- Proven experience leading finance teams in a multi‑entity or group environment
- Hands-on, detail‑oriented, and confident operating across all aspects of the accounting function
- A strong communicator, able to engage and influence both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
- Proactive, solutions‑focused, and committed to continuous improvement
