The on target earning potential for this role is £39,500 per annum - comprising a base salary of £38,000, plus a qualified estimate of £1,500 in gratuities and service charge.

As a Payroll & Banking Assistant you will:
- Support the end-to-end payroll lifecycle, from data collection through to final payroll processing and reconciliation.
- Collate, validate and input payroll data including starters, leavers, contractual changes, overtime, bonuses and deductions, and assist with year-end payroll processes, including P60s and statutory reporting.
- Ensure payroll data is accurate, complete and submitted in line with payroll deadlines, and support monthly payroll reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Administer and overview company pension and benefits.
- Assist with payroll calculations and validation checks prior to submission.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Expertly use Excel to analyse payroll data, identify trends and highlight anomalies, producing regular, accurate payroll reports and ad-hoc analysis for our stakeholders.
- Support the development of improved payroll reporting and dashboards, proactively assisting in identifying opportunities to improve our data accuracy and payroll efficiency.
- Investigate root causes of payroll issues and implement sustainable solutions and proactively identify process inefficiencies, risks and areas for improvement.
- Work collaboratively with our People, Finance and operational teams to improve our data quality and process alignment.
- Assist with audits and compliance reviews as required, playing a key role in supporting our compliance with payroll legislation and internal controls.
- Actively stay up to date with payroll best practices and regulatory changes through continuous learning, industry updates, and apply this knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.
- Deliver friendly, approachable support to our people and managers on payroll queries, while building trusted relationships across the business.
- Oversee the accurate recording of customer receipts and supplier payments in the finance system.
- Ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations.
- Manage and update customer and supplier master data, including bank details.
- Validate supplier bank details within the finance system and Adaco as required.
- Oversee bank account administration, including mandates, signatories and account changes.
- Monitor transactions and reports for irregularities.
- Support automation and process improvements across cash and banking workflows.
- Collaborate with AP and AR.
- Support member invoice queries and debtor record accuracy where required.
