The R&D Platform Engineer will play a key role in identifying and implementing innovative automation and platform engineering solutions to support business objectives. The role requires a foundational understanding of cloud platforms, automation tools, and development frameworks. The individual will assist in the design, testing, and deployment of platform-related technologies while collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders. Managers, Peers and Staff This role will report directly to the Team Lead – R&D Engineering , collaborating closely to ensure that platform engineering solutions are aligned with broader R&D objectives and business goals. The individual will work within a team of engineers and stakeholders, contributing to both day-to-day operational tasks and strategic platform initiatives. Job Accountabilities Collaborate with the R&D team to implement solutions that enhance platform efficiency and scalability. Assist in developing, testing, and deploying platform services with a focus on automation and containerisation. Support other engineers and developers in creating automation scripts and infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and integrate them with various automation and cloud platforms. Assist in the documentation of processes, best practices, and workflows to improve platform reliability and performance. Keep up to date with evolving technologies in cloud platforms, automation tools, and CI/CD practices. Key Challenges Adapting to the rapidly changing cloud technology landscape.
