Location: Milton Keynes

We are working with a highly automated logistics and warehouse operation in Milton Keynes supporting a fast-paced distribution environment. The site operates advanced materials handling and automated warehouse systems, with a strong focus on uptime, reliability and operational efficiency. This is a great opportunity for a Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter to join the existing maintenance team on a 12-month contract. Working outside IR35, this role offers strong contract stability and the opportunity to gain experience within a well-structured automated environment.

You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day maintenance activities across the site, carrying out first-line mechanical fixes, planned preventative maintenance and general mechanical upkeep of warehouse equipment. This role would suit a Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Engineer with previous industrial, warehouse or manufacturing experience who enjoys hands-on mechanical work in a fast-paced operational setting.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out first-line mechanical repairs across automated warehouse equipment
  • Support planned preventative maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime
  • Carry out general mechanical maintenance on conveyors, materials handling systems and associated plant
  • Assist the maintenance team with breakdown response and routine engineering tasks
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Support continuous operation of the automated warehouse environment
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards within engineering areas
Skills & qualifications
  • Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, fitting or industrial engineering support
  • Experience within warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or automated environments (desirable)
  • Practical fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work safely within a busy operational environment
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within an existing maintenance team
