We are working with an established and growing food manufacturing business supplying high-quality products to customers across the UK. The site operates a fast-paced production and packaging environment, with a strong focus on reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement across the engineering function.
As Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will report to the Reliability Manager and be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving a wide range of production and packaging equipment. Working a rotating shift pattern of 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 and 08:00-16:00 (Monday to Friday, no nights), you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and support wider reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedules
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on manufacturing and packaging equipment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery
- Work collaboratively with Production, Quality and Operations teams, ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety standards
- Apprentice trained (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent)
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, including motors, sensors, inverters, conveyors and pneumatics
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
- Previous experience in food, FMCG or process manufacturing, PLC fault-finding and 18th Edition are all advantageous
- Salary of £42,000 - £47,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Rotating shift pattern, Monday to Friday - no night shifts
