Toolroom Assistant – Apprentice / Graduate opening If you have just finished an a degree or apprentice course of NVQ in engineering and looking for a chance to really make your mark in engineering then this could be a great opportunity for you. Alternatively if you are looking to take a step back on a days role this role would equally suit you too. As a Toolroom Assistant / Engineer, you will support the maintenance, repair, and development of injection mould tooling within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on engineering tasks with continuous improvement initiatives and offers progression into more advanced tooling responsibilities. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on injection mould tools. Support and execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules. Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, and assist in resolving issues with minimal downtime. Inspect long-running tools in press, clean and grease mould faces, and report potential issues. Remove plating and clean mould faces as required. Complete tooling and maintenance reports, including entries into IFS. Operate forklift trucks and lifting equipment (training provided if necessary). Maintain high standards of workmanship and cleanliness in line with 5S methodology. Assist in tooling trials and support new tooling projects from commissioning to production. Document tooling history and update records accurately. Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
