Are you a senior reliability engineer looking for a step into a management position? This ambient food manufacturer in Wellingborough is about to undergo millions of pounds worth of investment with the introduction of a new line. As the reliability manager, working with the maintenance manager, you will lead the engineering team to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of the lines. In this role you will take the lead on projects, creating the predictive maintenance plan, and ensuring that you coach and guide the team to ensure a high standard of delivery. This is a company that puts people before profits, investing back into the team and the plant. There are plans over the next 12 months to move one of the products into its own plant & expand on both product lines, it’s a great time to be getting involved with the business.

The role as a Reliability Manager:

  • Lead, train, and supervise maintenance staff to ensure high performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Deliver and improve our Asset Care strategy (Predictive or Planned maintenance activities) to prevent failures.
  • Identify and eliminate failure modes across assets through focused projects and improvements.
  • Management of site CMMS to ensure accurate maintenance including work order completion, corrective action, and inventory of spare parts.
  • Schedule and Plan Maintenance Work orders, coordinating with Production planning ensuring optimal use of resources.
  • Promote and enforce Food Safety compliance with GMP & HACCP.
  • Coordinate and manage site statutory Compliance requirements (Fire Alarm/LOLER/Pressure regulation/EICR/LEV).
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Monitor and control maintenance expenditures.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Drive Continuous improvement activities.

The qualifications and skills required in the Reliability Manager role:

  • Experience with facility management.
  • Engineering HNC/ level 3 or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Experience of budgetary management.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Accurate and timely in maintaining Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules and records.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organisation.
  • IOSH Certified, Food hygiene accreditation, Experience of BRC and M&S audits are desirable but not essential.

  • Basic salary of £50,000 PA.
  • 40 hour week – Monday – Friday.
