We are working with a leading advanced manufacturing business operating within a high-precision automated production environment, supplying components into demanding industrial sectors. The site operates a highly automated manufacturing facility where engineering reliability, uptime and continuous improvement are central to operational success. This is a great opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering team supporting a fast-paced production environment.
You will be responsible for maintaining advanced CNC machinery, automation systems and robotic equipment, ensuring maximum uptime through a proactive maintenance approach. The engineering function plays a key role in site performance, with a strong focus on preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, reliability engineering and future project work. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer who enjoys technically challenging environments where no two days are the same.
This role would suit a Maintenance Engineer from an automotive, CNC machining, advanced manufacturing or highly automated production background, who enjoys fault finding, automation and working on complex machinery.
Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across CNC machinery, robotics and automated production equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC faults with minimal impact to production
- Support machine efficiency and uptime targets through proactive maintenance activity
- Use the CMMS system effectively to manage maintenance tasks, records and planned maintenance schedules
- Carry out PLC fault finding and basic program modifications where required
- Apprentice-trained engineer
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering
- ONC / HNC in Engineering (or working towards) desirable
- Strong multi-skilled maintenance background within manufacturing
- Experience working on CNC machinery and machine tool maintenance
- CMMS experience and computer literacy essential
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Monday to Friday shift pattern
- 2 shift rotation: 06:30 - 13:00 Early finish on Fridays
- Basic salary: £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
- £3,000 shift uplift
- Overtime paid
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
