Due to over 6 million pounds worth of investment into this plastic’s manufacturing business in Tamworth, we are looking for three maintenance engineers to enhance the current team. With a change in shift pattern and going from a very reactive maintenance operation, we are looking for engineers to embed a continuous improvement culture and proactive maintenance response.
Over the next 12 months, there are plans to bring in new equipment and several refurbishment projects to get involved in. It’s a great time to join the business and really get your voice heard. Working a Suez pattern consisting of 5 on 5 off mix of days and nights, you will get a great work-life balance with one long weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and one full weekend off every month.
The roles are new roles to the business created to enhance the proactivity of the current team, taking the engineering team to 14. Ideally, you will come from a manufacturing or FMCG background; we are happy to talk to both mechanically and electrically biased engineers.
The role of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Day-to-day maintenance of the machinery and facility.
- Ensure at all times the plant is maintained to ensure safe, efficient, and timely continued operation.
- Where required, assist with the installation and implementation of projects.
- Work as a team player within the engineering department and help meet all agreed objectives.
- Assist with compliance of the safety, health, environmental, and quality policies when required.
- Assist in maintaining a strong health and safety awareness culture within the engineering and other departments.
- Follow any specified requirements on risk assessments in relation to the engineering and other department functions.
- Follow the requirements of permits and safe systems of work.
- Ensure that site housekeeping in sections within your control is maintained to the required standard.
Qualifications & Skills required in this Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role:
- Recognised Engineering qualification, minimum of a level 3.
- Multi-skilled approach with strong electrical skills.
- Experience of working with maintaining manufacturing machinery.

- Suez Shift pattern (12 hours mix of days and nights) means you only work 6 months a year.
