Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking to move into a leadership‑focused role while maintaining a great work‑life balance? We are working with a leading food manufacturing business producing some of the UK's most recognised snack brands. The site is heavily invested in both its people and equipment, with a strong culture of continuous improvement, reliability and employee development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Reliability Lead to join the engineering team on a permanent Monday to Friday days pattern. Working as part of the site leadership team, you will take ownership of a production area, ensuring robust maintenance processes are in place to maximise equipment reliability, reduce downtime and support operational performance.

This role would suit a Senior Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Team Leader, Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Lead who enjoys coaching others, driving improvements and working closely with production teams to deliver sustainable results.

Responsibilities
  • Lead maintenance planning and scheduling activities within your production area
  • Review equipment losses and implement corrective actions to improve reliability
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop long‑term solutions to recurring issues
  • Drive maintenance performance through daily and weekly review meetings
  • Support and develop Autonomous Maintenance activities across production teams
  • Coach and develop colleagues to improve engineering and operational capability
  • Support capital projects and equipment improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with Operations and Production teams to deliver site performance targets
  • Promote a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability and continuous improvement
Skills & Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Engineering qualification
  • Strong maintenance engineering background within manufacturing environments
  • Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or automated production desirable
  • Proven fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience leading continuous improvement activities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of reliability techniques and root cause analysis
  • Ability to influence and develop others
