We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer for a leading food equipment manufacturer based in Peterborough. Your new role will be varied, challenging but exciting at the same time. So if you are a good Electrical engineer who has experience in CAD and wanting to change career paths or already an Electrical Design Engineer wanting a new move and interesting equipment this could be the role for you.
Requirements of an Electrical Design Engineer:
- Generation of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams using Eplan Pro Panel.
- Specification and sourcing of components, consumables and other hardware in conjunction with purchasing and software department to meet requirements and project cost targets.
- PLC/HMI selection in conjunction with the Software department.
- Support Spares/Service department with sourcing of parts for customers and technical queries.
- Working to a customer provided specification (URS) when required.
- Working to the appropriate legislation/standards specific to the project. For example, BS7671, IEC 60204, ISO 13849, UL508A, NFPA79, AS3000, etc.
- Knowledge of PLC hardware and software such as Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley & Siemens.
- Knowledge of Industrial networking systems such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, RS282, RS485, etc.
Qualifications of an Electrical Design Engineer:
- Has time proven practical electrical wiring experience; mechanical experience would also be beneficial.
- Has previous electrical CAD experience.
- Ideally Qualified to HNC/HND standard or above preferably in an electrical engineering related subject.
- Is experienced in reading and interpreting technical drawings and interpret data in written/numerical form on electrical systems.
