We are working with a well-established manufacturing business operating within the plastics and blow moulding sector, supplying high-quality plastic packaging and moulded products into a range of industrial markets. The business has built a strong reputation for quality, service and manufacturing capability, and is currently investing in both its facilities and engineering team to support continued growth.
This is a great opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a supportive engineering team, working alongside the existing engineer to strengthen maintenance coverage and support the next phase of site development. With planned expansion across both the premises and engineering function, this is an excellent time to join a business where you can genuinely make an impact.
This role would suit a hands-on Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault finding, improving machinery performance and being part of a close-knit team. Responsibilities of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across blow moulding and plastics manufacturing equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
- Support continuous improvement of plant reliability and engineering standards
- Work closely with the existing engineer to strengthen engineering support across the site
- Assist with machinery upgrades, modifications and future expansion projects
- Support production teams to maximise plant uptime and operational efficiency
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and to a high standard
- Participate in out-of-hours engineering support where required
Skills & Qualifications of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
- Multi-skilled engineer with a balanced mechanical and electrical background, stronger electrical capability preferred
- Level 3 engineering qualification preferred, although Level 2 engineers with the right attitude will be considered
- Experience within manufacturing or industrial maintenance environments
- Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience within plastics, packaging or blow moulding manufacturing advantageous
- Positive attitude, proactive approach and willingness to develop
- Ability to work independently and within a small engineering team
