We are working with a global leader in glass manufacturing and glazing solutions, operating one of the UK’s most established and technically advanced industrial sites in Bradford. The business is part of a wider international group, recognised for its innovation in float glass technology, continuous investment in production facilities, and commitment to engineering excellence across multiple sectors including architectural, automotive and technical glass.

This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the days team (8am–4pm), working within a structured engineering environment with clear discipline separation, allowing you to focus purely on mechanical reliability, fault finding and proactive maintenance. You will be working alongside a highly skilled engineering team, with strong knowledge sharing and genuine progression opportunities within a global organisation.

Responsibilities of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise plant reliability across heavy industrial glass processing equipment
  • Undertake planned and emergency mechanical repairs in a safe, efficient and timely manner
  • Complete all maintenance activity using CMMS/SAP systems, ensuring accurate recording of work
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostics on complex production and processing equipment
  • Work in line with strict safety standards and industry best practice in a high-risk manufacturing environment
  • Develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements for engineering activities
  • Support contractors during planned shutdowns and maintenance windows
  • Manage and maintain critical spares and consumables to support plant uptime

Qualifications & skills of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience within a manufacturing, process, or heavy industrial environment
  • CMMS/SAP experience desirable
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability on mechanical systems

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 27 days with service
