Are you an Electrical Design Engineer with PLC Programming experience? Are you looking for a new challenge? After a recent acquisition, we are looking for an electrical design engineer and PLC programming for this Equipment Manufacturer, whose manufacturing facility is based in Great Yarmouth. The new owners are providing significant investment into the business; this is a new role created by the company to support growth. Already a leading brand in the industry, and with a great reputation coupled with this investment, the business is set to soar in 2026.
Your role will be predominantly site-based with occasional travel to clients' sites 1-2 times a year. You will have full autonomy working with the programming and production team to make process and design improvements.
The Benefits of this Electrical Design Engineer and PLC programmer role:
- Basic salary £50,000 - £60,000
- 8:30-5:00 Monday to Thursday, 8:30-3:30 Friday
- Hybrid working
- 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays

The role of an Electrical Design Engineer and PLC programmer:
- Deliver machines to service team in a fully tested, documented, and compliant state.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and ownership, including commissioning guides, compliance documents, and test standards.
- Act as technical authority for commissioning and control systems.
- Manage supplier relationships relating to control system components, obsolescence, and returns.
- Provide occasional on-site support when customer or service requirements cannot be resolved remotely.
- Maintain awareness of the financial and operational impact of engineering decisions.
- Continuously develop expertise in control system safety and compliance standards.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Engineering Qualification in Electrical or controls (Minimum of a level 3)
- Commissioning and testing of automated machinery.
- PLC programming (Beckhoff TwinCAT preferred).
- Electrical CAD and BoM management.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting in electrical and pneumatic circuits.
- Documentation creation (FAT/SAT, compliance, commissioning standards).
