A plastic manufacturing business based in Tamworth is looking for a toolmaker to join their team. This business has recently received a £6m investment into the site to enhance production, transitioning from 5-day manufacturing to 24/7. With a large parent company, they are winning new business, making this a great time to join, especially if you want a progressive career.
As a toolmaker, you will be based in the toolroom working on making and modifying tools. This role is not an operator or setter's position.
Responsibilities of a toolmaker:- Repair and maintain injection moulding tools.
- Carry out PPM to agreed schedule.
- Identify spares requirements and log usage.
- Take ownership of smaller, less complex specific tool suite to develop and maintain performance with minimal supervision.
- Operate Forklift Truck and lifting equipment.
- Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production.
- Assist in tooling trials.
- Time served apprentice in a Tool Room is essential with a proven track record.
- Previous experience in repairing Injection Mould tools of varying sizes.
- Good mechanical knowledge with tool assembly and diagnosis experience.
- Practical knowledge of Injection Mould Tool Design and Processes.
- Diagnostic methodology in repairing tools.
- Monday to Friday (ideally double days 6am - 2pm and 2pm till 10pm).
- Salary of £45K for days - £48k for double days.
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- 7% pension.
- Career development for aspiring engineers if desired.
