Are you a controls engineer with commissioning experience? Are you looking for a new challenge? After a recent acquisition, we are looking for a controls & commissioning engineer for this Equipment Manufacturer, whose manufacturing facility is based in Great Yarmouth. The new owners are providing significant investment into the business; this is a new role created by the company to support growth. Already a leading brand in the industry, and a great reputation coupled with this investment sees the business set to soar in 2026.
Your role will be predominantly site-based with occasional travel to clients' sites 1-2 times a year. You will have full autonomy working with the programming and production team to make process and design improvements.
The Benefits of this Controls & Commissioning Engineer's role:
- Basic salary £50,000
- 8:30-5:00 Monday - Thursday, 8:30-3:30 Friday
- Hybrid working
- 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays

The role of a Controls & Commissioning Engineer:
- Deliver machines to service team in a fully tested, documented, and compliant state.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and ownership, including commissioning guides, compliance documents, and test standards.
- Act as technical authority for commissioning and control systems.
- Manage supplier relationships relating to control system components, obsolescence, and returns.
- Provide occasional on-site support when customer or service requirements cannot be resolved remotely.
- Maintain awareness of the financial and operational impact of engineering decisions.
- Continuously develop expertise in control system safety and compliance standards.
Skills & Qualifications Required in this Controls & Commissioning Engineer's Role:
- Engineering Qualification - Electrical or controls Minimum of a level 3
- Commissioning and testing of automated machinery.
- PLC programming (Beckhoff TwinCAT preferred).
- Electrical CAD and BoM management.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting in electrical and pneumatic circuits.
- Documentation creation (FAT/SAT, compliance, commissioning standards).
