We are working with an established provider of advanced electronic manufacturing services (EMS) and PCB technologies, supplying high-reliability electronics into the aerospace, defence, industrial automation and medical technology sectors. The site is part of a growing international group, with recent expansion and strategic partnerships driving increased aerospace and defence output and a strong focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement.

This is a great opportunity for a Quality professional with AS9102 experience who is looking to become a subject matter expert within a growing, high-reliability manufacturing environment.

Working within the Quality function, you will be responsible for the accurate creation and verification of AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), in line with aerospace and customer-specific requirements. You will complete Forms 1, 2 and 3 using customer data packs, drawings and the internal ERP system, interpret PCB and mechanical drawings, and maintain AS9100 traceability throughout. The role works cross-functionally across the business, providing objective evidence of compliance and identifying non-conformances to support the wider Quality Management System.

This role would suit a detail-oriented Quality professional from an aerospace background who is confident interpreting technical drawings and can communicate compliance evidence and reasoning clearly. Responsibilities of a Quality FAIRS Technician:

  • Create AS9102 FAIR reports in line with the latest revision
  • Complete Forms 1, 2 and 3 independently, using customer data packs, drawings and the internal ERP system
  • Interpret PCB and mechanical drawings to support FAIR completion
  • Maintain AS9100 traceability requirements throughout the process
  • Verify balloon drawing notes using an appropriate method, recording results and controls used
  • Understand and verify concessions where applicable
  • Provide objective evidence of compliance and identify non-conformances

Skills & Qualifications of a Quality FAIRS Technician:

  • Quality professional with demonstrable experience in the aerospace industry
  • Proven experience creating AS9102 FAIRs to the latest revision
  • Strong technical drawing interpretation skills (PCB and mechanical)
  • Confident communicator, able to provide objective evidence and reasoning to demonstrate compliance or non-compliance
  • Desirable: knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, AS9102, NADCAP or AC7120 (or similar)
