Are you a maintenance engineer who's passionate about continuous improvement? Happy to lead a team to ensure maximum output and take ownership of your production line? This Maintenance Leads role is a great step for someone who is looking to push your career towards a management position, working Monday - Friday you will take accountability for all proactive and reactive maintenance of your line, while guiding, coaching and developing your team to ensure a high standard of Maintenance. The role is available due to someone within the business retiring.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager & head of engineering, working in this fast-paced food manufacturer in Leicester.

The role as a Lead Engineer:

  • Plan maintenance tasks and ensure they are executed by the team.
  • To develop the team's technical knowledge.
  • Prioritising work orders and notifications.
  • Identifying improvement plans through the tracking of maintenance indicators.
  • Identifying ways in which to reduce losses.
  • Champion and lead the continuous improvement process.

Qualifications and skills needed for the Lead Engineer role:

  • Time-served engineer with a Mechanical or Electrical bias.
  • Level 3 NVQ Engineering Qualification.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Have integrated work system and operational experience.
  • Hands on experience as an engineer in a manufacturing setting.
  • Possess a flexible mindset and work as part of a wider team.
