Due to over 6 million pounds worth of investment into this plastics manufacturing business in Tamworth, we are looking for three maintenance engineers to enhance the current team. With a change in shift pattern and going from a very reactive maintenance operation, we are looking for engineers to embed a continuous improvements culture and proactive maintenance response.
Over the next 12 months, there are plans to bring in new equipment and several refurbishment projects to get involved in; it's a great time to join the business and really get your voice heard. Working a Suez pattern consisting of 5 on 5 off mix of days and nights, you will get a great work-life balance with one long weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and one full weekend off every month. The roles are new roles to the business created to enhance the proactivity of the current team, which will take the engineering team to 14.
Ideally, you will come from a manufacturing or FMCG background; we are happy to talk to both mechanically and electrically biased engineers.
The role of a Maintenance Engineer:
- Day-to-day maintenance of the machinery and facilities.
- Ensure at all times the plant is maintained to ensure safe, efficient, and timely continued operation.
- Where required, assist with the installation and implementation of projects.
- Work as a team player within the engineering department and help with meeting all agreed objectives.
- Assist with compliance of the safety, health, environmental, and quality policies when required.
- Assist in maintaining a strong health and safety awareness culture within the engineering and other departments.
- Follow any specified requirements on risk assessments in relation to the engineering and other department functions.
- Follow the requirements of permits and safe systems of work.
- Ensure that site housekeeping in sections within your control are maintained to the required standard.
Qualifications & Skills required in this Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role:
- Recognised Engineering qualification, minimum of a level 3.
- Multi-skilled approach with strong electrical skills.
- Experience of working with maintaining manufacturing machinery.
The benefits of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
- Basic Salary Β£54,000 pa.
- Suez Shift pattern 12 hours mix of days and nights (means you only work 6 months a year).
- 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, an extra day is awarded for each year of service (capped at 25 days).
