Background: The business has been through a series of private equity ownerships and in 2022, it was acquired by the leading residential real estate service provider in Europe, Emeria Group. The UK business restructured during late 2022 to form Emeria UK, with operating brands of Campions, FirstPort, and Innovus. The ambition for Emeria UK is to accelerate growth across all its operating brands by focusing on existing organic momentum and acquisitive plans in a heavily fragmented market.

The Role: Emeria UK is appointing a Unified Communications Engineer to take technical ownership of business telephony services across the organisation, ensuring they are stable, secure, and aligned to operational needs. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, this role is accountable for the delivery and continuous improvement of telephony services, including call routing, SIP services, and platform performance across the estate. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on maintaining a reliable telephony environment while driving standardisation and consolidation of platforms. The role also supports mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity, leading the migration and integration of telephony systems into the organisation’s strategic platforms, working closely with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage all business telephony systems, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Provide BAU support for telephony platforms including Mitel/Shoretel, SIP services, and call routing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve voice issues including call quality, routing failures, and connectivity problems
  • Manage relationships with telephony providers and vendors (e.g. SIP providers, maintainers, partners)
  • Lead the consolidation of telephony platforms into a standardised, strategic solution
  • Design and implement dial plans, call flows, IVRs, hunt groups, and numbering strategies
  • Monitor telephony performance, capacity, and risks, proactively addressing issues
  • Support and deliver telephony migrations, including platform transitions and number porting
  • Lead telephony integration activities for M&A, including assessment, design, and onboarding of new entities
  • Collaborate with Network, Infrastructure, and Service Desk teams to ensure aligned support and delivery
  • Maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational runbooks
  • Ensure telephony services align with security, compliance, and governance standards

About You:

Experience:

  • Proven experience supporting and managing enterprise telephony or unified communications platforms
  • Strong experience with SIP, call routing, dial plans, and telephony infrastructure
  • Experience working with platforms such as Mitel, Microsoft Teams Phone, Cisco, Avaya, or similar
  • Experience managing telecom vendors and service providers
  • Experience delivering telephony migrations or platform consolidation projects
  • Experience supporting or integrating telephony as part of M&A activity

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Strong technical expertise in telephony and unified communications technologies
  • Solid understanding of networking principles related to voice (QoS, latency, routing)
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in complex environments
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across BAU support and project delivery
  • Strong communication skills, able to work with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders
