Location: Gloucester preferred, with travel across Bristol, Lyneham, Gloucester and Swindon

Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
Call-Out: 1 week in 3, including weekends, with standby payment and additional call-out supplement
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an experienced Domestic Plumber to join their Accommodation team, carrying out responsive repairs, maintenance and installation work across Ministry of Defence housing in Bristol, Lyneham, Gloucester and Swindon. You'll be working across both Service Family Accommodation (SFA) and Mess Facilities Housing (MFH), helping to keep homes and accommodation safe, functional and well maintained for military families and personnel. You'll join an established team of three experienced plumbers, working alongside the wider maintenance team to deliver a Right First Time service while providing a professional and customer-focused experience to residents.
The Role
This is a hands-on domestic plumbing position covering a mixture of occupied and void properties. You'll be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and completing planned and preventative maintenance to a high standard.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Carrying out domestic plumbing repairs, maintenance and installations across SFA and MFH properties.
- Diagnosing and repairing leaks, faults and issues with domestic plumbing systems.
- Replacing sanitary ware and associated plumbing components.
- Maintaining heating and hot water systems and carrying out relevant fault finding.
- Completing preventative maintenance to help reduce repeat repairs and breakdowns.
- Working independently on allocated jobs while supporting the wider maintenance team where required.
- Recording completed work, materials and job information using electronic job management systems.
- Maintaining appropriate van stock to maximise first-time fixes.
- Completing risk assessments and following safe systems of work on every job.
- Attending toolbox talks, training sessions and team briefings to maintain high standards of health and safety and technical knowledge.
- Providing a professional service to customers and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a qualified plumber with solid experience in domestic repairs and maintenance, who is comfortable working independently across different properties and dealing directly with customers.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing.
- Previous experience in domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
- Eligibility to obtain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance due to the nature of the work.
