We are recruiting for a Trainee Transport Supervisor to work for our client based in Garretts Green. Hours - there is an element of flexibility, however the right candidate will be able to work a late morning/afternoon shift. Salary £27,500 per annum. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career within the transport and logistics industry. The successful candidate will receive full training and support whilst gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of transport operations, driver management, route planning, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the day-to-day running of the transport department
- Supporting driver briefings and debriefings
- Monitoring vehicle movements and delivery schedules
- Helping to ensure compliance with transport legislation and company procedures
- Liaising with drivers, customers, and warehouse staff
- Updating transport systems and records accurately
- Assisting with vehicle maintenance scheduling and defect reporting
- Providing excellent customer service and resolving operational issues
Candidate Requirements
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- A willingness to learn and develop within the role
- Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to work
- Previous experience within transport, logistics, or warehousing would be advantageous but is not essential
