Mainstay Recruitment are seeking an experienced Small Works Project Manager with a strong technical background in facilities management, maintenance, and project delivery for our prestigious client. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, compliant maintenance and small works projects within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the effective, compliant, and timely delivery of maintenance and response works
- Ensure all activities meet statutory and Ministry of Defence (MoD) requirements
- Monitor and manage supply chain performance, ensuring value for money and high standards of quality and safety
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Ensure compliance with asbestos and legionella management plans
- Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for end-user issues
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and contractors
- Manage technical queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Oversee cost control, commercial performance, and forward maintenance planning
- Identify risks and drive efficiencies across multiple sites
About You
- A Level 4 Facilities Management qualification or equivalent technical experience
- Proven experience in facilities operations, including planned and reactive maintenance
- Experience managing small works or projects
- Strong knowledge of Safe Systems of Work (e.g. working at height, confined spaces, asbestos, legionella)
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and contractor performance
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Desirable:
- HNC (or equivalent) in Building, Mechanical, or Facilities Management
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IWFM)
Additional Requirements
- Ability to pass and maintain SC Clearance
