Join a skilled and supportive team as an Electrician working across three major MoD sites. This role offers variety, stability and the chance to apply your technical expertise across a broad portfolio of commercial buildings at RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Feltwell.
You will work within a team of eight electricians, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, inspections and reactive repairs to ensure all facilities operate safely and efficiently. The position involves fixed wire testing, emergency lighting checks, minor installation works and maintaining full compliance with current electrical regulations. As the work is based in secure MoD environments, you will need a strong technical background and the ability to operate confidently within high security settings.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct fixed wire inspections including five year testing across commercial properties
- Carry out emergency lighting checks, distribution board inspections and routine compliance tasks
- Deliver minor installation and repair works including additional power points and lighting alterations
- Ensure all work meets current electrical regulations and internal quality standards
- Liaise effectively with site managers, facility teams and colleagues to plan and deliver work safely
- City and Guilds Parts 1 and 2 in Electrical Installation
- City and Guilds 18th Edition
- Proven experience carrying out fixed wire testing in commercial environments
- Previous experience within MoD, construction, or property maintenance settings
- Understanding of security cleared workplaces and their specific electrical needs
- Full clean UK driving licence. A company van is provided for business use
- Ability to work independently and maintain high personal standards
- Strong communication skills for interacting with stakeholders
- Ability to pass BPSS clearance
