Our client is looking for a Trainee Hard Services Engineer to support their hard services function across a portfolio of residential estates in East London. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, assisting with pump remedials, leisure facility servicing, and statutory water hygiene routines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a trade background who is eager to learn, gain hands-on experience, and progress into a technical engineering role. Reliability, willingness to learn, and consistency are key, as the team operates across well-maintained residential estates with a strong focus on service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with pump remedial works, including isolations, component removal/installation, and general equipment handling.
- Support the leisure maintenance team with filter checks, circulation pump inspections, plant room housekeeping, and basic operational tasks.
- Carry out little-used outlet flushing in line with water hygiene schedules and accurately record all activity for compliance.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks, plant room cleaning, clearing access routes, moving materials, and preparing work areas.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and consumables, checking stock levels, cleaning equipment, and reporting defects.
- Provide general site support, moving parts and materials safely around estates and plant rooms.
- Follow on-site safety procedures, permits, and access requirements.
- Report visible defects, unusual noises, leaks, or other plant issues to engineers promptly.
- Interact professionally with residents and site representatives.
- Demonstrate consistent timekeeping, teamwork, and a proactive approach to learning and career development.
