Role: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Coventry

Salary: Β£40,000

Shift: 06:00 - 16:00 (Days)

Mainstay Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading powder coating business to recruit a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias). This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically skilled engineer with PLC experience to join a fast-paced, quality-driven production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems across the site.
  • Fault finding and minor programming of PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley preferred).
  • Support with mechanical maintenance: motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and ovens.
  • Ensure minimal downtime on production equipment, particularly powder coating lines.
  • Record maintenance activity accurately and assist in continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and compliance.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of PLCs fault finding, resets, and programming tweaks.
  • Mechanical awareness ability to diagnose issues with moving machinery.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and a proactive maintenance approach.

Desirable (not essential)

  • 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Background in powder coating, painting, or finishing lines.
  • Experience with automated conveyors or compressed air systems.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement techniques.
