We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join a busy and fast-paced operation based in Minworth, Birmingham. This is a night-shift position working a 4 on, 4 off pattern, overseeing the smooth and efficient running of the transport operation throughout the night.
The successful candidate will have previous experience within a transport environment, ideally gained within supermarket distribution, 3PL, FMCG, food distribution or a similar fast-paced logistics operation.
The Role
As Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the night transport operation, ensuring vehicles, drivers and deliveries are managed efficiently and in line with customer requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring planned deliveries and collections are completed on time.
- Managing driver attendance, performance and day-to-day issues.
- Allocating work and ensuring drivers are operating within legal and company requirements.
- Monitoring vehicle movements and responding to any delays or operational issues.
- Liaising with drivers, transport planners, warehouse teams and management.
- Dealing with any delivery or driver issues and putting appropriate solutions in place.
- Ensuring all transport documentation and systems are kept up to date.
- Monitoring compliance with drivers' hours, WTD and other transport legislation.

- Providing clear handovers to the incoming/outgoing transport teams.

- Good knowledge of transport operations and drivers' hours.
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment.
